Coach Fritts is the original founder of the program in 1980. In the Fall of 2009 he plans to return for a Masters in Counseling and will be once again charge of all apsects of the Men’s Lacrosse Program full time. After his four years at Sam Houston (1980-84) and two college championship appearances (1983 & 84), he went on to coach and win the Men’s City Club Champions in 1985 of the Southwest Lacrosse Association. He coached again at the club level in Denver, Colorado running the Denver Brine team in the late 80′s and was an assistant at Arapahoe High School in 1988.
In 1992 he traded his sticks in for stripes and quickly advanced with in the “Zebra” world officiating at both Division I & III levels. Some of his games included the likes of Syracuse, Cornell, Brown, Yale, Hobart, West Point, Fairfield, Tufts, Colby… In 1993 he was invited to the World Tryouts at Rutgers University for the 94 World Games and subsequently invited to officiate at the Emerging Nations games of 1994.
