Our second annual JV Jam round-robin tournament held on Saturday, April 14th was a huge success thanks to the participation of area teams.

We thank the following high school junior varsity teams for their participation and support of our event:

* Cy-Fair Ironmen

* Fort Bend Rangers

* Magnolia Bulldogs

* Round Rock Dragons

A good day of lacrosse was had by all and a few members of our parent boosters were present to help with grilling burgers and hot dogs for our concessions.

Our team mission is to continue to help expand and support youth lacrosse playing opportunities. Next season the goal is to add to our event schedule. We will begin with the College Prep Lacrosse Showcase Tournaments, June 9-10th. For more information please visit: www.cplaxshowcase.com

Bearkats Host 1st Annual Spring Junior Varsity Jam

On Saturday, April 16, 2011, Sam Houston Bearkat Men’s Lacrosse will host the 1st Annual Spring JV Jam at the historic Pritchett Fields on the Sam Houston State University campus. This round-robin style tournament will host eight junior varsityÂ teams, and each team will be guaranteed three games. The location for these games is ideal for teams from the Austin/San Antonio, Dallas and Houston area wanting to minimize expenses with a one-day trip.Â Games will begin at 10:00am and will finish by 4:30pm.

The SHSU Menâ€™s Lacrosse team would like toÂ start a tradition of providing quality youth lacrosse events on our beautifulÂ campus.

We plan for this to be the start of a continuing tradition to support the sport we have all grown up loving. TheÂ proceeds generated from these events will be used to support the SHSU Menâ€™s Lacrosse program.Â This year the proceeds from this event will be specifically usedÂ to help fund our anticipated trip to the MCLA National Tournament in Denver later in May.
