In his first year in the MCLA, Freshman Midfielder Michael Mann positioned himself as a premier player in the league. The Lone Star Alliance further cemented his status, by naming him with 4 of their highest awards. In the 2009 LSA Division II Regular Season Awards, Mann walked away with the following awards:
All League Midfield 1st Team
Rookie of the Year
Offensive Player of the Year
Most Valuable Player
In addition to all four of those titles, The Lone Star Alliance also nominated Mann for MCLA All-American status. Congratulations Michael Mann on your performance this season, and to Coach Fritts and the rest of the Bearkat team for propelling your teammate to such an amazing season!
SHSU Lacrosse’s own Coach Fritts was named the Coach of the Year as part of the 2009 LSA Division II Regular Season Award. Coach Fritts, who is in his first year as a coach in the MCLA, made a tremendous impact not only on the SHSU program, but the Lone Star Alliance. Congratulations Coach!
The Lone Star Alliance has named their 2009 All League Team, and SHSU Lacrosse players filled 6 of those spots. Baron Copeland and Travis Cottle where name All League Attack, 2nd Team and 3rd Team respectively. Michael Mann and Alex Badour was also named All League Midfield, 1st Team and 3rd Team respectively. Defenseman John Messer was named All League Defense, 2nd Team and Goalie Avery Flores was named All League Goalie, 3rd Team. Congratulations Bearkats!
